Deborah Wachs, M.D., IVF Practice Director and Managing Partner at RSC, combines clinical expertise with leadership to ensure patients receive the most advanced and compassionate fertility care.
Dr. Wachs joined RSC in 2009 after moving to the Bay Area following fellowship training at UC-San Diego. She is originally from the East Coast and still has strong ties to her New Jersey roots. After attending college at the University of Michigan, she initially pursued a career as a Tax Accountant in Washington, DC. It did not take long for Dr. Wachs to realize that the field of medicine was better aligned with her long term professional goals. She made a sharp pivot into the world of science and was thrilled to enroll at Georgetown University for medical school. It was during medical school that Dr. Wachs decided to pursue a career in the field of ObGyn and during residency that she decided to specialize in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Residency and fellowship training took her to the West Coast where she happily plans to stay.
Dr. Wachs is deeply committed to providing individualized care, recognizing that every patient’s journey is unique. She approaches each case with empathy, scientific precision, and a focus on empowering patients to make informed decisions about their treatment. She gets the most satisfaction from learning all aspects of her patients’ history and evaluation and then solving the puzzle to help them achieve their fertility goals. Dr. Wachs provides patient care primarily at RSC’s Los Gatos location.
In 2021, Dr. Wachs became the Practice Director/Managing Partner at RSC. This role allows her to oversee all clinical and operational aspects of the practice while continuing to care for patients. Dr. Wachs works with the RSC staff to provide the best patient care with the highest pregnancy rates in a work environment that is rewarding and respectful. Every day brings a new challenge and there is never a dull moment.
Dr. Wachs has made significant contributions to the field of reproductive medicine. During her fellowship training, she participated in federally funded research studies on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and has published extensively on the subject. Her additional areas of expertise include diminished ovarian reserve, recurrent pregnancy loss, fertility preservation, and preimplantation genetic testing.
