For Sarah, a young donor, the motivation behind helping to create life was a tragedy in her own family. Sarah’s mother was prepared to have a baby for Sarah’s aunt through surrogacy when her aunt passed away at the age of thirty-four. “My mom never got the chance to do it, so she went ahead and did it for other people to follow that dream through,” said Sarah.

Sarah also decided to give back, through egg donation rather than surrogacy. She has donated multiple times over the last two years and finds the process easier with each donation. Her twin sister is also a donor for RSC’s program. Both Sarah and her sister have had many successful egg retrievals and plan on continuing for ongoing cycles.

When asked why she continues to donate, Sarah said, “It gives a woman a gift that’s so wonderful; the best gift that you can give to someone who can’t conceive is to give her your eggs.”
