After an emotional journey filled with ups and downs, an RSC couple shares a fertility success testimonial and baby photos. This anonymous story was entered in our testimonials book in the waiting area.
Try with IUI, try again with IVF
When they say trying to have a baby is a physical, mental, and emotional roller coaster ride, it seriously was for us. Because of this, we wanted to share our fertility success testimonial with others. We wanted to be parents above all else.
We were referred to RSC after having three unsuccessful IUI attempts. We tried another three IUI’s with RSC before diving into the full IVF experience. Three times. On our first IVF attempt we only had one embryo that made it to blastocyst stage, and it didn’t work out. Our second attempt came with a change in medications, and we transferred two embryos on day three after fertilization and froze one embryo at blastocyst stage. Both embryos didn’t make it.
Grieving loss, but not giving up hope
Each unsuccessful attempt was its own individual devastation and heartbreak and left us feeling so isolated. No one could ever really feel what it’s like to have an IVF cycle not work unless you have gone through it. We needed to grieve each loss in our own way and to give ourselves the time to do so. What kept us going was the possibility of having a child; to be a mommy and daddy; to have a family of our own. We knew that if we didn’t try, we would be filled with so much regret and constantly asking ourselves “what if …”
The third IVF cycle, Dr. Rosenbluth recommended a process that involved a mock frozen transfer with all the medications so that we could take a uterine lining biopsy to see when the optimal window of time for embryo transfer would be. The following month, the frozen embryo would transfer with the information we received from the mock transfer biopsy.

Taking a risk with only one embryo, but parents at last
That whole process, along with trying IVF for a third time with our one and only embryo, was such a difficult decision to make. As always, it was a risk. But we continued to have hope and decided to go for it … and it was a success! It is still unbelievable! Our last and only frozen embryo is now our beautiful and absolutely perfect six-month-old baby girl.
No matter what we went through – the medication schedule and administration, the side effects, the physical pain and discomfort, the daily mental challenges, and the emotional ups and downs – it was all worth it, and we would do it all over again for our daughter. We grew stronger in so many ways and we appreciate this blessing of a baby so much more after all that we have been through.
After several years of trying to become parents, our dream came true thanks to Dr. Rosenbluth, Shanda and the rest of the staff at RSC. We will always be eternally grateful.
