What to expect from AI-assisted embryo selection
If your care team has talked with you about Embryo Predict™, here’s a closer look at how it works, what the AI score means, and how your embryo is selected.
How it works, step by step
Embryo Predict is one tool that your RSC doctors and embryologists use, alongside their own expertise.
1. Your embryos are imaged
Your embryos are photographed at the blastocyst stage as part of RSC’s standard laboratory process.
2. Each embryo gets an AI-generated score
Embryo Predict analyzes images of each embryo and generates a score based on patterns the technology has learned to associate with embryo outcomes.
The score provides an additional data point that may help your care team compare and prioritize embryos for transfer that have a higher potential for pregnancy.
3. Your embryologist and care team make the final call
The Embryo Predict score is one piece of information your embryologist and physician consider. Your care team makes the final recommendation based on the AI-generated score, the embryologist’s assessment, genetic testing results when available, and the details of your individual treatment cycle.

Common questions
Is this used for every patient?
No. Embryo Predict is available as an optional add-on to standard IVF care at RSC.
Does the AI replace my embryologist?
No. Embryo Predict provides an additional data point to support embryo selection. Your physician and embryologist remain responsible for the final transfer recommendation.
If I do genetic testing on my embryos, why do I still need Embryo Predict?
Genetic testing and Embryo Predict provide different types of information.
Genetic testing can determine whether an embryo has the expected number of chromosomes or, depending on the type of testing performed, whether it carries a specific genetic condition. However, embryos with normal genetic testing results can still differ in their likelihood of successful development.
Embryo Predict analyzes the embryos’ images so your care team knows which embryos have the highest chances of success.
Your RSC physicians and embryologists consider all sources of information when recommending which embryo to transfer. One evaluates genetics, while the other assesses embryo viability.
Will I see my embryos’ scores?
Yes. You will receive a detailed report that includes images of your embryos, their embryologist-assigned grades, and their Embryo Predict scores.
