2020 Quarantine Edition
Reproductive Science Center of the San Francisco Bay Area is proud to announce that we are once again a gold level sponsor of the Corks with Cade infertility treatment and adoption fundraising event, which is going virtual for 2020. While things may look a little different this year, the night will still be filled with fun, food, wine and celebration!
The virtual fundraising event will take place on September 12, 2020. This is RSC’s third year as a sponsor. In 2018 and 2019 we raised $62,964.25 combined. This year, our goal is to raise $40,000.
This year’s celebration that benefits the Tinina Q. Cade Foundation (TQCF) will include a wine tasting guided by a sommelier and a private cooking lesson by a master chef. This will be followed by a fun virtual game night.
As always, we will also honor the leaders whose work has helped families that have experienced infertility. The 2020 Family Building Champion to be honored is Dr. Louis Weckstein.
Tickets must be purchased by September 12. However, in order to receive wine, guests will need to register prior to September 5. The event will start at 5 p.m. PST and the schedule is as follows.
- 5:00-5:15 p.m.: Check In, Welcome & Introductions.
- 5:15-6:00 Guests will be split into groups – half will go to the cooking class and half will go to the virtual game room (45 mins).
- 6:00-6:45: Guests will flip and go to opposite rooms.
- 6:45: All guests enter the main room again for the official sommelier led tasting, awards program and raffle winner selection.
- 7:00: Program concludes.
This fundraising event helps families with infertility grow
All of the proceeds from the Corks with Cade event will go toward the Tinina Q. Cade Foundation’s Family Building Grant. These funds are allocated for the costs of infertility treatments or adoption. We are expecting 200-300 event attendees.
A lot of donated eggs provided by Donor Egg Bank USA will be raffled off to a participant. We will also award two prizes for the games portion of the event (one for each of the virtual games). These include an overnight stay in a luxury villa and a wine class for 20 people.
The 2019 recipient of a Family Building Grant from funds raised through last year’s event is Jenafer R. Jenafer and her husband tried to conceive naturally for several years without success. Prior to receiving the the grant, Jenafer tried regular IVF and was unsuccessful. Using the funds from the Family Building Grant, she was successful with her second round of donor egg IVF. She is currently pregnant with a son and is due on November 4. She is so incredibly grateful to the Cade Foundation and RSC for all of their continued support, time and attention.
